Product Submit and Edit

 

The ability to submit products for review (and edit live products) is also provided to traders via the helpdesk.

The idea is that both the trader and support staff will communicate (and perhaps negotiate) the values associated with a product (i.e. description, images etc) to provide a quality control mechanism.

The trader cannot edit or submit product directly, rather new submissions and edit requests are processed via the helpdesk. Once all parties are agreed, the support representative can commit changes (or submit the new product) to BigCommerce.

 

To submit a product for review ... the trader will follow these steps:

1. Submit a product request via the "My Account" page on their trader account.

 

2. Once submitted, they can click "My Profile" to view their live products and those in "review". "Live" products are those currently available to purchase. Products under the "Products Pending Review" section are those yet to be submitted to BigCommerce.

 

3. The trader can click on the "Edit" button (on either "Live" products or those "Under Review"). This will open a modal window offering the ability to submit another change or edit. And changes submitted via the modal will be logged in the ticket.

 

4. The support representative will note the "Product Submit" or "Product Edit" ticket in the helpdesk. They can negotiate with the trader by either submitting changes using the "Edit Product" modal or write messages to the trader directly.

5. Once everyone is happy, the support representative clicks the "Create Product" button. This either updates a live product, or creates a new product.
